Planer Image Update

Just starting to trace today, so not nearly as far along as I'd like.

  1. For all that you have traced so far, it is looking pretty good. I enjoy the pattern on the crosswalk as well as the photo in general. So far, it looks kind of like a modern advertisement you'd find in a fashion magazine in the, sort of, "chic" look. I don't know if that is what you are going for, but if it is, it looks great so far.

  3. What you did so far is looking good. I like the setup of the picture and the mood it gives off.I think the final piece will look great.

  4. The focus on those buildings in the background could prove difficult to trace, try not to focus on getting every little detail when doing them. Itll drive you crazy

  5. You may want to consider scaling down the pattern for the back sections of the street markings. If that area was scaled smaller it may give the images more of depth of space, in addition this may create more tension in the flat foreground.

  6. It's difficult to work with the placed figures and avoid the "architects rendering" look. I think what Janiene is working on is similar (see her blog). There might need to be more figures or less. If the crosswalk is the most interesting thing to you perhaps that should be the main focus.

  7. not totally sure of the tone you're going for, but i'm curious about it. adding some more objects, some gradients and deeper color contrasts will benefit this greatly. it's an solid start and will definitely make for an interesting image.

  8. i like the really deep perspective, it'll look great when you make it start to look flat, very optical illusion-ey

  9. the pattern for the street lines are interesting and I like the play of contrast between the street lines and the plainness of the girls legs. looks good so far!

  10. This looks neat so far. I like the image. I think the legs of the people turned out good but I would maybe tone down the color of the lines in the street. Maybe you were going to? The pattern is cool however the pink seems kind of distracting. Overall, it looks like you are heading in a good direction!

  11. I am loving the photo and the work you've done on the crosswalks. The pink is a little distracting, but it might work better once you get more done. great job!
